BONE DENSITOMETRY (MINERALOMETRY)
1

2

Bone densitometry, based on the absorption of x-rays, allows the calcium content of the bones at specific regions (spinal column, hips and forearms) to be measured. A measure of the body as a whole is also possible in combination with an analysis on body composition which allows the bone, fat and muscular mass of our body to be determined.
Various supplementary examinations are offered at the time of the bone densitometry examination:
- An analysis of vertebral deformations on the lateral thoracolumbar section of the spine
- An estimation of the risk of fracturing, taking into account the individual risk factors and the measure of bone density
- An evaluation of the vertebral micro-architecture using a software specialised in trabeculectomy
